Planning Permission

Currently, for any wind turbine in the UK you will require planning permission.

However, in the rest of Europe planning consent is not required for any turbine that is mounted on a 10m tower or less. Hopefully, the UK will be following this initiative very soon - indeed there were rumours of this happening in May 08 but sadly it was just for solar Panels and Ground source Heat Pumps.

Needless to say with the Government attitude and policy towards renewable energy Local Government is being forced to look favourably on the installation and adoption of renewable technologies such as wind turbines. Indeed there are now many wind turbines in areas of outstanding natural beauty, national parks and SSSI.
